Luxury hotel with Michelin-starred restaurant and spa facilities
This is undoubtedly one of the finest hotels in the Chamonix Valley. Offering four types of accommodation; from traditional and refined at the Hotel Albert Premier, the authentic but alternative Chalet Soli and Chalet Grepon to the exceptional and chic at The Farmhouse; without forgetting the Suite Martine a duplex of 150 m² facing the Mont-Blanc range; all tastes of luxury are catered for.
The hotel has 21 newly and tastefully decorated, spacious rooms in a beautiful traditional style building in the heart of Chamonix. Set in substantial grounds, the windows open out onto the Mont Blanc range, the park and the vegetable garden.
The Farmhouse, constructed from three displaced old-mountain barns, has 12 bedrooms and sits on the edge of the hotel grounds. It has been decorated throughout with wood in keeping with tradition, but has many modern touches creating an atmosphere of cosy seclusion. Together with the open fire, whirlpool spa bath and a balcony that boast views of both the Aiguilles Rouges and Mont Blanc, The Farmhouse will ensure that your stay is everything that you dreamt it would be.
Chalet Grepon is the ideal retreat for families with a spacious double room and a smaller bunk-bed room. This sleek modern alpine accommodation offers a snow-white interior with stylish furnishings including a comfortable sofas and a wood-burning stove in the living area. The chalet has a TV and DVD player to keep you entertained on an evening in and there is also a mini-bar and safe.
Chalet Soli is a small beautifully appointed chalet sleeping 4–6 people in two double rooms and a mezzanine with two single beds. It has a sauna and a living room with high vaulted ceilings creating an airy but welcoming environment for a family or a small group of friends.
The Suite Martine is a large duplex of 150m², ideally composed to welcome a family up to 6 people,in a warm atmosphere with white-washed wood throughout.
The Suite Blaitiere provides 90m² of luxurious space perfect for a family for 4, consisting of a master bedroom with a luxury en-suite bathroom and a smaller bedroom with a walk-in shower, and a communal lounge with fire, Jacuzzi bath, private steam room and a flat screen TV with a selection of online films to enjoy.
For relaxation, why not visit their Le Bachal Spa which offers an extensive programme of health, fitness, beauty and massage treatments. You can also soothe any aching muscles in the steam room and jacuzzi.
The hotel also has a beautiful indoor/outdoor heated swimming pool that is open all year around. The pool has fantastic views of Mont Blanc which can equally be enjoyed from the comfort of a sun-lounger on the surrounding patio in the summer months.
With a fine selection of wines, some served by the glass, the QuartzBar is a beautiful setting to sample some of France's finest refreshments. The bar also has a large selection of cocktails, champagnes and local liqueurs. Les Bossons is a sleepy little village just a five-minute drive from the centre Chamonix on the road to Les Houches. It is fairly spread out and consists mainly of chalet-style properties and is popular with families due to its school.
Les Houches is one of the largest towns in the Chamonix Valley, spreading over 8km from Vaudagne and the Col de Voza at one end, towards the bottom of the Taconnaz glacier and the Merlet Animal park at the other.
Argentière is a picturesque village within the Chamonix Valley and is just a short 10-minute car journey from Chamonix town. This charming village has been less affected by wealthy tourists and ex-patriots from various countries who have chosen to make their living in the mountains. It therefore retains a lot of authentic French charm and has a beautiful unspoilt high street with patisseries, boulangeries and wine bars.
Le Tour is a small, quaint little village at the far end of the Chamonix Valley in the Domaine de la Balme area. Take a stroll around the back streets to see some of the classically Alpine-style houses and the church dome. Look up to see the glaciers reaching down towards you, which are really impressive even in the height of summer.
