Bighorn Bistro is a family establishment through and through, run passionately by Susan, her children, family and friends. The front-of-house team, Hannah and Rhys, pride themselves on going the extra mile to provide a friendly and relaxed experience for their customers. Behind the scenes, Susan and Morgan are responsible for the operations and unique concept of Bighorn - an American-influenced restaurant, bar and café/bakery.
Inspired by a love of the Wyoming mountains mixed with the need for adventure that only Chamonix can offer, Bighorn bistro offers a unique experience for their visitors. The cosy and rustic mountain-style interior offers a warm welcome for mountaineers and skiers seeking sustenance, conveniently located in the heart of Chamonix and just a few minutes walk from the Aiguille du Midi Cable Car.
Their team provide quality home-made style cuisine in a casual, friendly and relaxed atmosphere. They are firmly of the belief that American food, with its wide variety of influences, is ultimately fusion food and therefore their menu reflects that spirit. With this in mind, you'll find many of their 'traditional' American dishes have been re-invigorated to give them an exciting, and of course delicious, modern twist. On their menu you'll find healthy gourmet brunches, mouth-watering appetizers, soups, salads and handcrafted sandwiches, as well as tasty burgers and fries. Everything is made in-house, including the burger buns!
To follow it down at the bar, they have a great mix of craft beers, on tap or by the bottle, from local breweries to some of the best craft beers in the world. You can find out what beers they have on draught at any point by visiting their profile on the Untappd app. Max, the Sommelier, has put together an amazing selection of wines and is always around in the evening to advise guests, as well as offer a wine tasting experience on request. If you fancy something a little more unique, Rhys is the mastermind behind their selection of unique hand-crafted, homemade cocktails.
Uniquely, this restaurant also has a café and bakery element to it, so if you fancy treating yourself to a craft coffee and some home-baked treats, you'll find a great alternative to French pastries and espressos here, with a selection that changes daily. (Open from 10am).
Needless to say that at Bighorn all individuals making and serving your food do so from the heart!
