More and more hotels now offer luxurious spa facilities where you can unwind, be pampered or enjoy treatments. Most are open to non-hotel guests by reservation, and here is our edit of the best.

Only a short drive from Chamonix you will find the thermal baths of Saint Gervais, where you can experience the therapeutic virtues of the mineral-rich waters of the area.

Recommended by dermatologists, the purifying properties of the baths mean you can enjoy total relaxation whilst your skin benefits from the high mineral content. You will emerge scrubbed and refreshed with a glow that’s far more flattering than sunburn! In addition to a wide selection of beauty treatments, the on-site clinic also specialises in treatments for acne rosacea, eczema, psoriasis and treatments of burns.

Additionally, they have their own range of cosmetic products and a long list of face and body treatments, as well as fitness classes in the water.

Open all year round you can treat yourself to these thermal baths: Monday to Saturday from 9:30 to 21:00, Sunday from 13:30 to 19:45.

You can also indulge in massages, body and beauty treatments as well as Reiki. Treatments need to be booked in advance.

L'Heliopic Spa, Chamonix pool

This fantastic NUXE spa is located in the four-star hotel, L'Heliopic, next to the Aiguille du Midi cable car. It has everything you need to relax and revive yourself after an active day on the mountain.

The full list of spa facilities includes a large indoor swimming pool, a cosy Jacuzzi with Mont Blanc views, a sauna, steam room, tepidarium and an ice cave with cold water wells. The spa also has a relaxation area with suspended armchairs and a fireplace where you can unwind after a steam or a refreshing swim.

Indulge even further with a relaxing massage, either for one or as a couple, or select from a range of beauty treatments, including body wraps and scrubs, facials, manicure and pedicure. Not exactly a treat, but the Nuxe beauty therapists also offer a range of waxing services should you need.

The unique design of the spa combines mirrors, stone walls and raw materials creating a peaceful, Zen atmosphere to revive body and mind.

Mont Blanc Spa, Vallorcine massage

Situated in Vallorcine just minutes away from the train station and local bus stop, this spa is easily accessible to all in the Chamonix valley and includes everything you need to unwind.

The spa has a large indoor pool for enthusiastic swimmers, two saunas, a steam room and fitness centre. Cinq Mondes also offer a wide variety of spa treatments. Treatments include, but are not limited to waxing, massage, facials. 

Treatments range in price, with two to five-day packages also available which include complimentary treatments over a series of days. The kid's spa (7-16 years) is in partnership with TOOFRUIT (100 % organic products) enables you to enjoy a relaxing massage with your children.

The main facilities are open throughout the year, however different areas are open at different times

Upcoming Events

Chamonix hosts a wide range of sporting events throughout the year. The biggest ones include the Mont Blanc Marathon in June and the UTMB trail running race in August. In March, the Unlimited Festival brings ravers to the mountains while Musilac Mont Blanc takes place a month later. At the end of July, the Cosmo Jazz Festival hosts concerts all around the valley.
