This mountain lodge enjoys a prime location just metres from the ski bus stop and local train station, with the town centre only a short walk away. Recently refurbished, it now features a smart, modern interior.
La Chaumiere’s 25 rooms are comfortable and practical, designed to accommodate you and all your equipment. Each room boasts fantastic views - either of Mont Blanc and the Glacier des Bossons or towards Brévent in the Aiguilles Rouges range.
The hotel offers spacious double and twin rooms, as well as three- and four-bed rooms ideal for families or small groups. Many rooms feature their own balconies. WiFi is available throughout the hotel.
The local bus stop, providing access to all ski areas, is just 50 metres from the hotel, as is the train station, which runs regular services between Saint-Gervais and Martigny.
The relaxed bar area caters for everything from après-ski drinks to pre-dinner aperitifs and after-dinner digestifs. It’s a comfortable, welcoming space that also serves as a cosy lounge - perfect for unwinding after a day on the mountain. Share stories, browse the library of books and games, or simply sit back and soak up the views with a well-earned drink in hand.
Excellent food is at the heart of the hotel’s concept. The menu features international favourites with a Savoyard twist, and the half board package includes a generous breakfast buffet and three-course dinners. During high season, guests can also enjoy à la carte options and takeaway lunches.

The shop in Les Praz is most conveniently located at the edge of the car-park at the foot of the Flegere cable-car. All members of staff, including the owners, who are also qualified instructors, guides and national coaches, actively pursue the sports they stock equipment for.

Les Bossons is a sleepy little village just a five-minute drive from the centre Chamonix on the road to Les Houches. It is fairly spread out and consists mainly of chalet-style properties and is popular with families due to its school.
Les Praz is a small picturesque village on the outskirts of Chamonix. The village is surrounded by forests and streams making it an idyllic mountain hideaway and a popular place to live. You will find many chalet-style properties in this area. It is also home to a number of good bars and restaurants.
Les Houches is one of the largest towns in the Chamonix Valley, spreading over 8km from Vaudagne and the Col de Voza at one end, towards the bottom of the Taconnaz glacier and the Merlet Animal park at the other.
Argentière is a picturesque village within the Chamonix Valley and is just a short 10-minute car journey from Chamonix town. This charming village has been less affected by wealthy tourists and ex-patriots from various countries who have chosen to make their living in the mountains. It therefore retains a lot of authentic French charm and has a beautiful unspoilt high street with patisseries, boulangeries and wine bars.
Le Tour is a small, quaint little village at the far end of the Chamonix Valley in the Domaine de la Balme area. Take a stroll around the back streets to see some of the classically Alpine-style houses and the church dome. Look up to see the glaciers reaching down towards you, which are really impressive even in the height of summer.
