A beautiful traditional farmhouse that was restored in the late 90s. The interior is clean and simple but comfortable and is easily accessed from St Gervais or Les Houches.

There are 24 beds available consisting of 2, 4 and 6 people sharing a room. Bathrooms are shared and hot showers are available for a small extra charge.

Accommodation can be booked on a half-board, B&B or bed only basis. Bedding is provided, but for hygiene reasons you are obliged to bring your own sheet or sleeping bag liner.

The refuge does not offer kitchen facilities, however lunch is available and picnics baskets can be provided on request.

The shelter is open from May until September. There are limited camping spaces around the refuge.

Directions

The shelter can be accessed in several ways:

From Les Houches

  • take the Bellevue lift and follow the track to the Col de Voza
  • continue toward Bionnassay, following signs to the shelter
  • this should take approximately 45 minutes

From Saint Gervais

  • by train: take the Mont Blanc tramway from St Gervais to Col de Voza station and walk in the direction of Bionnassay - it should take 15 minutes from the station
  • by car: take the road to Les Contamines, after 3km take the route to your left through the Bionnay village, then follow the road towards Bionnassay. Park in the Croza car park, then walk for 15 minutes in the direction of Col de Voza to reach the shelter

Upcoming Events

Chamonix hosts a wide range of sporting events throughout the year. The biggest ones include the Mont Blanc Marathon in June and the UTMB trail running race in August. In March, the Unlimited Festival brings ravers to the mountains while Musilac Mont Blanc takes place a month later. At the end of July, the Cosmo Jazz Festival hosts concerts all around the valley.
