Le Grand Champ campsite
Lovely campsite located between Les Bossons and Les Houches
Situated at the foot of the Les Bossons Glacier and the glacier de Taconnaz, this campsite has space for 100 pitches.
The campsite lawn is on terraces and they have created the pitches with great care. Using different kinds of trees and bushes to divided the land into private spots, it provides both sun and shade. You will enjoy an intimate grassy corner surrounded by a variety of vegetation which isolates you from your neighbours, yet with the beautiful panorama.
Can accommodate large groups of up to 50 campers on private spaces in a natural environment. They can also provide parking for buses.
Two nice hiking trails start at the campsite:
- one on the Mont Blanc side of the valley called “La Jonction des Glaciers”, which is the trail that was used by the first mountaineers who reach the top of Mont Blanc in 1786
- on the opposite side of the valley is the “Animal Park de Merlet” which houses native mountain animals who live in half freedom
Camping Le Grand Champ is recommended by ANVB charme campings, English Cool camping, and German guide ADAC.
Open from May to mid-October every summer. Reception from 08:00 to 20:00.
