New look mid station & new cabins for the cable car
Work on updating the breezy, dark and cramped mid station waiting area at Grands Montets has been taking place, and the first stage cable cars are getting to the mid station are also getting a face lift.
The waiting area to get onto the top cable car at Grands Montets has been getting a bit of much needed attention with new screen walls creating a warmer waiting area (see picture). It's also about to be fitted out with some high tech screens / projectors to keep you entertained while you're waiting.
Down at the bottom of the hill, new cable car cabins are also going to be fitted, which will have large specially treated glass windows (so less scratches than the old perspex ones) and new automatic doors. The capacity of the cabins won't change, they'll just be more functional and give you better views.
