A few days ago we reported that the second section of the Aiguille du Midi cable car was going to close until May 27th due to some anomalies found on the cables. Well, it looks like the works to repair said faults will take longer than anticipated. The new opening date will be Saturday, June 2nd.

While these works are underway, the Planpraz lift that connects Chamonix and the Brévent area will be open every day to offer visitors panoramic views over the Mont Blanc range. It will then reopen for the summer season a week later than previously announced due to maintenance works. Therefore, instead of June 9th, Brévent will reopen for the summer season on June 16th.

Luckily, there is a lot to do in Chamonix while we wait for the second section of the Aiguille du Midi cable car to open. Take a look at all the activities on offer in the valley.
