The competitors had an early start today on the Chamonix leg of the Freeride World Tour, boot packing up to the competition face at Flegere.

First up were the Ski Men, and there have been plenty of thrills and spills as they picked out their lines down the Aiguille Pourrie.

Loic Collomb-Patton laid down an amazing run, and after already winning in Chamonix in the last two years has now taken his third successive title.

Jérémie Heitz (SWI) did one of the biggest back flips we've seen in the competition, but sadly crashed out before the end as did Kiwi Sam Smoothy in his run, which looked really promising from the start. Wildcard rider from Canada Logan Pehota had an amazing run too, and looked likely to nudge Loic out of the top spot and managed to take second place.

In the women's ski competition Matilda Rapaport (SWE) put in a really creative line on the second run down from the women. Following her down the mountain was current Freeride World Champion & previous Chamonix winner Eva Walkner (AUT) who put in a really solid run scoring 83 points.

Nadine Wallner (AUT) sadly crashed out on her run, then she was followed by Jackie Paaso (USA) who seemed to be having some issues and sadly didn't have a great run either.

In the women's snowboarding Norwegian Kjersti Buaas has quite a few tumbles on her run. Following her, the fastest woman we've seen so far, Anne-Flore Marxer flew down the mountain scoring 84 putting her in the top spot.

Marion Hearty (FRA) took a great, technical line and looked really comfortable nipping through the rocks. Reigning Freeride World Champion Estelle Balet (SWI) went steep, took a totally different line to the other competitors and snuck into second place.

The men's snowboarding competition really hotted things up on the mountain. Sammy Luebke (USA) threw down an amazing first run with a 360 and scored 92 points, the biggest score of the day so far! Rookie Johannes Schnitzer (GER) followed him with a super high speed and impressive run down.

Ralph Backstrom (USA) got a lot of amazing jumps in on his run and had one of the best runs we've seen from him in competition recently, putting him into second place. Local Chamonix rider Camille Armand (FRA) did a great backflip on his run whilst fellow Chamoniard Jonathan Charlet had a bit of a disaster, only scoring 45 points.

Current leader Sascha Hamm (GBR) started off with a steep run and a massive drop at incredible speed but sadly didn't manage to get a podium position. Canadian Jamie Rizzuto upset the leader table, taking 2nd place knocking Ralph Backstrom back to third place.
