4 tonnes of rubbish taken off the Mer de Glace in this years clean up
Every year a team heads onto the Mer de Glace to clean up the detritus that the glacier has emitted, and that people have left behind. This years clean up recovered 4 tonnes of debris, and was undertaken with help from the Club Alpin Francais, the mayor of Chamonix, the UCPA, Mountain Rdiers Association and Lafuma, who ran a competition so that 5 members of the public could take part in the operation.
