Recent snowfall and low temperatures means conditions were perfect to have a go at one of Chamonix's more public lines. The Poubelle couloir often attracts the attention of skiers and once in a while someone drops in.

After a warm-up lap on amazing pistes, we got the ropes out and went for it. Aware that the previous day's sunshine could have affected the snow, we proceed with caution. A beautiful top section led to sun affected bottom half, requiring some technical skiing.

Avalanche risk was 3/5, but with today's change in the weather this will have changed so make sure you check the latest report. The forecast for the next 5 days is a mix of rain and snow, with freezing level up to 2000m.

This is a serious ski mountaineering route, this video is not a substitute for experience or knowledge. Conditions have already changed significantly, so check all local forecasts and the avalanche risk. Chamonix is home to some of the world's best mountain guides, we highly recommend going with a guide to make the most of your experience in the mountains. Be Safe. Have Fun.
