Whilst this video is from the Ski Joering Championships held in Les Arcs each year, the activity is becoming more and more popular throughout the Alps and you can now try ski joering yourself in the Chamonix.
Ski Joering hails from Scandinavia and can be practiced with the skier being pulled by either dogs or horses. The original drag lift, the sport survives today in either touring or competition form and if you want an après ski activity or a day out on the hill away from the crowds then this is a sport worth checking out.
