Fiona Bruce enjoys some fresh powder on the Chamonix slopes
BBC newsreader and former Crimewatch presenter, Fiona Bruce, has been telling all about her recent weekend trip to Chamonix. With the aim of mastering the art of powder skiing she turned up at just the right time, as this weekend has been one of the best of the season so far for unexpectedly clear skies, cold temperatures and plenty of fresh snow.
Reporting back from her off-piste adventures Fiona tells the Daily Telegraph how she fared under the expert wing of local guide Gavin Foster, enjoyed a hearty lunch over in Courmayeur, stripped off in a mountain restaurant (!) and relaxed in style at the 4* Hotel Morgane.
Fiona booked her weekend in Chamonix and her private mountain guide through Ski Weekend. Fiona is a regular visitor to Chamonix and it seems like she knows the resort pretty well. We didn't spot her swigging vin chaud at the Bergerie or dancing on the tables at Chambre Neuf, but maybe next time!
