This charming mountain restaurant is nestled on the hill over the back of the Les Houches ski area, on the way down to Saint Gervais. It's small and cosy with inside seating around the fire for those cold winter days or a fantastic terrace for when the sun is out.

The service here is friendly and welcoming and the Argentinian owner speaks Spanish, French & English. When planning a visit, be sure to book ahead for their amazing Argentinian beef and BBQ (available all year)... it's really something special! You'll need to be in a party of 6 or more to reserve the BBQ, and if you ask nicely they may let you camp over for the night in their field in summer.

In winter, you can access the restaurant on skis from the Plan du Cret piste near the Plancerts ski-lift.  In summer, get there on foot or by mountain bike, and it is also possible to drive up in a 4x4 vehicle, but you must do so before 09:00 or after 18:00 to avoid bumping into too many walkers.

Open for lunch and dinner summer and winter. Reservations are strongly recommended at lunchtime and essential for dinner.

The neighbourhood

There isn't a neighbourhood to speak of as the restaurant sits on a hillside accessible by 4x4 track. The only neighbours are the donkeys!

The Bar

We particularly loved the Malbec they serve. Red wine with your steak... perfect!

Directions

Start from Parking des Toilles in St Gervais and either walk up the trail or drive your 4x4 right up to the restaurant. Or you can take the Prarion lift up from Les Houches and walk or mountain bike down via the 4x4 track. In winter it's easy to find on skis, just follow the Plan du Cret blue piste and the signs!
