It might only be one more piste that's opened up in the valley, but if you've ever been up to the top of Grands Montets the views from up there are pretty amazing and it's well worth going up.

Compagnie du Mont Blanc say:

"Because of the slight snowcover at the start of this winter season, this opening is an exceptional event with exceptional measures. The only trail open is a modified version of the “Pylônes” trail with a course adapted to the conditions. Certain zones are difficult which means the entire trail should only be attempted by good skiers.

The presence of numerous crevasses on the glacial zones means that off piste skiing beyond the bounds of the marked & patrolled trails is strongly ill advised without the presence of a professional mountain guide.

Thank you in advance for taking all necessary safety precautions & we are counting each individuals’ personal sense of responsibility.

For any additional safety information, do not hesitate to contact “La Chamoniarde” where mountain professionals will be delighted to answer your queries."

Please note that you can reserve places on the top cable car, and this is recommended in busy periods like we are in at the moment. Find out how to Book Ahead & reserve a place.
