After reaching the summits of Aiguille Blanche de Peuterey and the Grand Pilier d'Angle on the Italian side of the Mont Blanc massif, French climber and alpinist (and more important, Chamonix local) Liv Sansoz joins the short list of climbers to have reached the summits of all 4000 meter plus peaks in the Alps.

Three time Lead World Cup champion in the late 90s and early 2000s, Sansoz then turned here attention to ice, winning the Ice Climbing World Cup in 2001. After a climbing accident left her in recovery mode for a number of years, she settled in Chamonix to explore her love of the mountains, focusing mainly on skiing, mountaineering, paragliding and para-alpinism.

Most noticeable is Sansoz's style of ascent: taking off from the valley floor without the use of lifts, and often incorporating paragliding descents. After completing the Peutérey Integral ridge on September 11th, she took off from the south side of the summit of Mont Blanc to fly home to Chamonix after carrying her glider for two days in the mountain. A magnificent feat considering Sansoz only began her challenge in 2017.
