Shortly before 10pm last night a small earthquake hit Chamonix and left us wondering if it really was an earthquake or something big happening up in the mountains.

A quick glance at the Seismic Newtork website over in Switzerland confirmed it actually was an earthquake. At 21:52 a 3.3 magnitude quake rocked us in our homes in central Chamonix and all the way down to Servoz.

The epicentre of the earthquake is thought to have been 12km north of Chamonix at a depth of 9.9km.
