Today's (Wednesday) London Evening Standard is reporting that a 10 year old boy has become the youngest Briton to climb Mont Blanc after spending three days acclimatising in Chamonix.

Asher Silver from London arrived with his father, Nick and with a guide made the summit of Mont Blanc at 4810m saying it was 'easy'. No mean feat for a youngster, the British Mountaineering Council believes Asher is indeed the youngest Briton to Europe's highest peak.

It seems it's not the first time Asher has been over 4000m. Last year he succeeded in climbing the 4197m high Grand Tatum mountain in Wyoming.

His Father could only comment: "He was always climbing trees, so I thought it was better for him to start properly" and climbing Mont Blanc isn't a bad way to start!
