Teresa Kaufman's Photo Walks make the Final 5 in The Alps Award 2013
Chamonix local promotes the theme "Summer Attractions in the Mountains"
Last week saw the 5 finalists of the Alps Award 2013 being scrutinised by a panel of judges in Chamonix, one of whom was local photographer Teresa Kaufman.
The Alps Award took place for the third time this year, as part of the gathering of over 300 key players from European Alpine tourism, who met to forge relationships, attend lectures and to share ideas on how better to create & sell Alpine tourism products.
As part of this 2 day event, submissions from 30 entrants from 4 different countries were whittled down to the final five and then an overall winner. The theme was "Summer Attractions in the Mountains".
Teresa's Photo Walks (which are available to do in both summer and winter) made it to the final 5, with the overall prize going to Hexenwasser Söll from the Tyrol whose project developed family attractions in conjunction with the lift company & led to a vast increase in visitor numbers.
Teresa is understandably pleased with having been nominated, and for making it so far in the competition. You can watch Teresa's nomination video here, and if you'd like to take part on one of her photo walks in and around the Chamonix Valley, you can find out more information here.
