Since we published the article below on the 12th March, a couple of you have written in to us to say that you were refused a day pass with the MBU ticket in Les Houches. There has also been a response from SEPP, the company who runs the lifts in Les Houches save for Prarion, of which we will bring you further details in due course. However, suffice to say holders of MBU passes for two days or more (including season and annual MBU passes) WILL be given a day pass for the whole Les Houches area on presentation of the MBU pass at the Prarion lift. All you need to do is present your MBU pass at the Prarion cash desk where you will be asked to pay €3 for a separate hands free lift pass. This pass can then be recharged on future visits or refunded at the end of the day.

Please note, this offer is ONLY being run via the Compagnie du Mont Blanc subsidiary company, LH-SG, at the Prarion lift.

The original article follows:
The Compagnie du Mont Blanc lift company in Chamonix has just announced that, following the restructuring of the Les Houches ski domaine, holders of Mont Blanc Unlimited (MBU) passes for two days or more (including season and annual holders) will be able to ski ALL of Les Houches.

The agreement starts this Saturday the 14th March. If you are a Mont Blanc Unlimited pass holder and you want to ski Les Houches, all you have to do is go to the Prarion lift ticket office with your MBU pass and you will be given a day pass for free skiing throughout the whole Les Houches ski area, which quite frankly, is great news with such fab snow conditions we all want to be able to ski everywhere in the valley!

So, what's brought this on we hear you ask? Well, to cut a long story short, as reported a while back on Chamonet.com, the eight concessionaires in the Les Houches ski area agreed to a new society (a SIVU) being created, meaning one voice to oversee the domaine and the two lift operators in Les Houches.

This society was recently inaugurated and a letter was sent to LH-SG (the joint owner-operators with Compagnie du Mont Blanc of the Prarion lift) asking for a resolution to the question of Mont Blanc Unlimited holders not being able to ski in Les Houches and all concerned parties have acted swiftly to offer this solution which starts this coming Saturday! As the French would say, 'Bravo'!
