Probably the hardest mountain bike race in the world
The MB Race is the Ultra-Trail of mountain bike races and it's here in the Mont Blanc valley.
This event born in Mont Blanc territory and invented by Frenchmen Vincent Hazout is being launched at last, after 3 years of conception and realisation.
So what's it all about?
The MB Race is made up of two races on the Saturday (MB Race & MB Endure) for the hardcore mountain bikers and one race on the Sunday (MB Rando) aimed at families and anyone up for some lighter-hearted mountain biking.
MB Race
The big daddy of MT bike racing, this is the Ultra Trail of mountain biking with a whopping 140 km in distance and a staggering 6000m of elevation gain.
The event is broken down into three categories:
L : 50 km - Starting in Megève & arriving in Sallanches (1700 m elevation gain).
XL : 100 km - Starting in Megève & aarriving in Praz sur Arly (4800m elevation gain).
XXL : 140 km - Starting in Megève & arriving in Combloux (6000m elevation gain).
MB Enduro
A real race against the clock to cover 25km starting in Megève & arriving in Combloux
MB Rando
Open to all and with the help of lifts, the Portes du Mont Blanc becomes one big bike park. Two different trails offered:
MB Rando Discovery: 10 km Combloux to Megeve
MB Rando Max: 30 km Combloux to Megeve
