New Chamonix Ski Lift Delay Causes Divert

Delayed Flegere lift cabin replacements means access via Brevent

The Chamonix lift company have just announced that both the Flegere cable car cabins will be replaced as part of their long term investment plan for the Chamonix ski area.

The new €500,000 cabins will be largely glazed giving a better view on your way up the mountain and boast important modern lift specifications.

Unfortunately the replacement of the cabins is experiencing delays and the scheduled opening on the 14th of December will no longer happen. This means that although the Flegere ski area will be open, access will be via the Brevent gondola and liaison.

The Flegere cable car is now expected to open on the 21st of December in time for the busy Christmas week in Chamonix.

During this transitional period, from the 14th December to 20th December, the Compagnie du Mont Blanc will be providing a free bus service from the Flegere car park to the Brevent gondola.

The first bus in the morning will be at 09:00 and will run every 20 minutes, with the last bus returning from Brevent at 17:00.
