Chamonix's Cinema Vox has been pulling out the stops lately since being threatened with closure. There are now more latest releases than ever before, more films being shown in the original English language (with French subtitles) and plenty of regular events such as the Adventure Film Festival.

The latest in the calendar of events is the ‘La Montagne Fait Son Cinéma', a series of mountain films accompanied by debates and conversation. Many of the films are being shown in English and there will be a few guest speakers to introduce them and head up debates afterwards.

Some names you may recognise include Chamonix glacier expert Luc Moreau, legendary freestyle skier Glen Plake and mountaineer Simon Yates (of ‘Touching the Void' fame).

The films are running from 8th July to 24th August and show times can be found here >>

Chamonet.com are publishing regular reviews of films being shown in English at the Cinema Vox, so watch this space for the latest releases or check out the Cinema Vox website for timetables.
