Unless you are one of those lucky enough to live in a chalet with a garden, chances are you have to make do with a balcony or window box for growing your own veg.

Les Houches is holding a meeting tonight to discuss the possibility of an allotment-type scheme. The local council has proposed that a plot of land near the Tourchet piste be given over to a shared community garden.

The "Le Brin d'Herbe" (Blade of Grass) association will meet tonight at 8pm at the Espace Olca to get the idea off the ground.
