Jenny Jones takes silver in Aspen
Winter X-games 15 finished last night in Aspen and three times gold medal winner Jenny Jones was just pushed into second place by Finnish new-comer Enni Rukajarvi.
Jenny's run was, as ever, fluid and solid and had more rotation off the kickers than Rukajarvi's but was less creative in the rail section and this may have cost her the gold.
After the first round Jenny was in the lead ahead of American Jamie Anderson, who is the current TTR champion and has won every slopestyle contest she entered this year, with a strong run which consisted of a backside 360, a frontside 5 a, cab-5 and a frontside 720 to finish.
“It was a flawless run” said commentator Keir Dillon. "The judges are looking at the details but they want to see women step it up"
Once Enni's run had moved her into the top spot Jenny had one last trick up her sleeve and tried to spin a 900 off the bottom kicker. Had she landed the trick it would have pushed her into first place and moved the level of women's snowboarding forward, as a 900 has never been landed in Women's X-Games history.
As it was Jenny had to settle with silver, an incredible achievement after she fractured a bone in her ankle only two months ago and X-Games was her first competition this season.
If you want to see more action like this and cheer on Jenny then head to Tignes, where Jenny spent her first season as a chalet girl, on March 16th for the second ever European X-Games.
