An overnight fire has completely destroyed the upper three floors of the Kitsch Inn bar & restaurant in Les Houches, whilst concerns of heat damage to the lift cables have shut the Bellevue lift.

The fire started in the early hours of the morning, went on to ravage all three upper floors of the wooden structure (which was home to print business Source 74) whilst leaving the concrete ground floor seemingly untouched. Fortunately no one was in the building when the fire happened.
The fire has since been controlled by the emergency services who have been on the scene since 4am.

Due to the location of the restaurant, just below the cables of the Bellevue cable car, the Les Houches lift company have had to close the lift until further notice. The cables will need to be inspected for damage which will mean the lift will be closed for the next four days. During this closure the Prarion cable car will be open to give access to the Les Houches area.
If the cables have been damaged then the Bellevue lift could be out of action for the whole of the summer.
