Champagne Tasting at Albert 1er

For the weekend of 4th and 5th April the Albert Premier has the honour of welcoming Fabrice Rosset, chairman of Deutz Champagne, for the next in their season of wine tasting lunches. A native of Epernay, as well a keen skier in the Chamonix valley, Fabrice Rosset will present a selection of vintage Deutz wines and will guide you through the delights of Delas Frères (Rhône) and Burmester (Port).

The day will begin at 10.30 am with the wine tasting. The wines to be tasted are Deutz Brut Classic, Deutz Brut 2004, Deutz Blanc de Blancs 2004, Deutz rosé 2004, Cuvée William Deutz 1998 and Deutz demi-sec 1999.

Lunch will commence at 12.00 noon – a gastronomic meal complimented by a selection of wines, carefully chosen by Albert 1er sommelier Christian Martray. The menu for the day will be:

Sea bass fillet in Champagne

Roast beef, wine-based sauce and baked potatoes

A selection of blue cheese

Cottage cheese with red fruits

Coffee, infusion, bite-sized desserts and chocolates

One wine from the Burmester company (Port)

The price for the wine tasting and the gastronomic lunch is 88 €uro per person. The lunchtime menu including wine, mineral water and coffee is 68 € per person.

You are invited for coffee in the Albert 1er entrance hall, about 15 minutes before the start of the wine tasting. Please be aware that it is not possible to sign up solely for the wine tasting, however you are welcome to sign up just for the lunch, which will end around 3.00pm. To reserve, a 50% deposit is required in advance, payable by credit card or cheque.

NB. These wine tasting events are intended for a limited number of people. The deposit will be kept for any cancellations made within 10 days of the wine tasting. Reservation is subject to availability. Albert 1er reserves the right to cancel one or both of the wine tasting events if a minimum number of participants is not met.
