Chamonix Guide Caught in Avalanche in the Haute Maurienne
An avalanche on Sunday takes the life of a local guide
An avalanche in the Haute Maurienne has sadly taken the life of Chamonix Mountain guide Philippe Chillet.
Philippe worked with the Compagnie des Guides de Chamonix, and was on a trip in the Albaron area with 2 other people.
Although he was rescued and flown to Grenoble hospital for treatment, he sadly passed away yesterday.
Our thoughts are with his family and all those who knew him.
