This family-run establishment serves craft coffees and home baked goods and treats in a casual, friendly and relaxed atmosphere. 

Inspired by a love of the Wyoming mountains mixed with the need for adventure that only Chamonix can offer, Bighorn Bistro offers a unique experience to their visitors. The cosy and rustic lodge-style interior offers a warm welcome for mountaineers and skiers, locals and tourists alike, seeking sustenance. Conveniently located in the heart of Chamonix, it's just a few minutes walk from the Aiguille du Midi cable car.

Well-established on the Chamonix restaurant and bar scene, Bighorn is also the place to go for your caffeine fix in Chamonix Sud, now serving Italian Lavazza coffee. As with all things Bighorn, the focus is on quality, homemade produce with a friendly service and relaxed atmosphere. So, drop by for a catch up with friends and sink into their cosy sofa corner whilst sipping on a flat white or one of their craft coffee creations. 

If you fancy treating yourself to something sweet with your coffee, you'll find a great alternative to the usual French pastries here, as uniquely they have their own bakery serving up delicious homemade treats, with a selection that changes daily.

Once you're settled in you may find it hard to leave, but that's not a problem as you could stay for lunch at the restaurant or even end up sampling their craft beers and cocktails at the bar until late into the evening. You can find out what beers they have on draught at any point by visiting their profile on the Untappd app.

The café, bar and restaurant are currently open Tuesday to Saturday from 15:00 to 22:30. On Sundays, they offer brunch to take away from 10:30 to 14:30 with American specialties including buttermilk pancakes and freshly baked cinnamon rolls. 

Le Kiosque Cafe, Chamonix - Centre

2. Le Kiosque Restaurant

The perfect place to grab a fresh sandwich to take up the mountain for lunch.

They serve a variety of snacks to takeaway including fresh sandwiches, hot drinks and energy bars.

Le Kiosque is located outside La Folie Douce Hotel and is open to everyone, including people who aren't guests at the hotel.

Open every day from 09:00 to 17:00.

3. Le Comptoir de Plan Praz Restaurant and Café

At Le Comptoir de Plan Praz in Chamonix, the food celebrates hearty alpine tradition with a refined touch. If you would prefer a more substantial, sit-down meal then La Bergerie de Planpraz is the perfect option.

4. Summit 3842 Café

Their space has been renovated to make your service easier with order terminals to allow you more flexibility and less waiting time - ideal.

Enjoy your food inside with large bay windows offering a breathtaking view of the Chamonix valley and Mont Blanc. Or enjoy it on the terraces; take your meal to go and sit wherever you would like and enjoy!

ELA Deli, Chamonix Main Town

5. ELA Deli

ELA is a small deli offering world food, salads and it even has a small restaurant license so you can grab a beer or a bottle of wine to go with your meal.

On the menu are salads, soups, wraps, speciality roast meats and hot food to eat in or take away.

They cater for vegetarians and vegans too. You can find fresh tastes from around the world, homemade eats, mix and match salad boxes, hot dinner pots, filled flatbreads, slow cooked meats, halloumi and falafel wraps, freshly baked pies and pasties, cakes, slices and cupcakes, speciality coffee, chilled soft drinks and even wines of the world.

Open from 11:00 to 21:30 every day of the week. Eat in at the small counter or takeaway.

Situated in the prime location of Cham Sud, directly opposite the Aiguille du Midi lift station, this café is the perfect place for a filling breakfast or a quick lunch.

Serving coffee, a wide selection of teas, soft drinks and a small choice of wine and beer, as well as a good selection of snacks and sandwiches, including wraps, rolls and home baking. 

Open daily from 08:00 until 15:00.

From energy-boosting breakfasts including avocado toasts and porridge pots to sandwiches, soul bowls, soup, burgers, pasta and smoothie bowls, this is the place to come for the latest trends on health food. Choose from their long list of organic coffees, matcha and cold-pressed juices.

Arctic Juice is located in the heart of the town on the main high-street. A great location to stop in and refuel whether you're simply mooching around town or have had a day on the hill.

A new, delightful cafe in Argentiere's Old Town, situated opposite the old church.

The owner bakes a wonderful selection of cakes and cookies, offering not only good quality local produce but also giving you a gluten free option. With a wide selection of tea's to try along side your cake or a well made cappuccino, espresso or latte it is the perfect morning coffee or afternoon tea spot. The cosy ambience means that you can easily let the afternoon slip away curled up with a pot of tea and a slab (or two) of cake.

They also serve up home-made soups, quiche, veggie burgers and a dish of the day. All vegetarian and made fresh in the kitchen.

Open from Thursday to Monday, 8:00-18:00.

11. Shoukâ Café

A cosy café and delicious coffee are a key part to any holiday and Shoukâ ticks all the boxes. Ideally located on the main street in Chamonix, it's the perfect place to head with friends, family or even to work.

Shoukâ offers “bean-to-bar” chocolate, literally from the cocoa bean to the bar, and “bean-to-cup” coffee, from the coffee bean to the cup!

Their welcoming café has both indoor and outdoor seating, as well as a shop so you can buy their specialty coffee and chocolate. Not only this, but they also serve a selection freshly made, delicious cakes. 

It's the perfect place to visit before or after heading to the slopes in winter, or even just when you're visiting the town.

Right in the heart of Chamonix, L’Atelier Café is a cosy and inviting spot perfect for soaking up the town’s vibrant atmosphere. Located beside the river, it offers charming views of the surrounding mountains and a sunny terrace that’s ideal for people-watching or simply enjoying the Alpine scenery.

Serving breakfast, brunch and a light lunch menu of salads, soups, crepes and sandwiches, as well as a range of wines, beers, tea, coffee and killer hot chocolate. Be warned, it's thick and rich.

L'Atelier is located right beside the river in the centre of Chamonix, with great views of the mountains. They are open daily throughout the year, 08:30-21:00.

Aux Petits Gourmand serves a selection of sweet and savoury baked goods, as well as speciality teas, coffee, hot chocolates and soft drinks to eat in or takeaway. 

Their beautiful window displays showcase their artisan chocolates - always a mouthwatering sight at Christmas and Easter! Great for gifts and special occasions.

They have two shops, a bigger one located in the centre of Chamonix, and a smaller one with a cosy and comfortable seating area where you can enjoy coffee and croissants.

The main shop is open every day 07:30 until 19:30. 

The patisserie in Chamonix Sud is open during the season, 08:30 until 12:30 and 13:45 until 19:30.
