La Fine Bouche Restaurant Review

First impressions on approaching the restaurant were excellent - the lovely exterior is very sweet and the extended terrace looks like it would be a great place to soak up the sun in the summer time. The menu board outside showing the day's "menu du jour" also got our mouths watering. La Fine Bouche always post this daily menu on their Facebook page, so you can check out what's on offer for lunch at a very reasonable 14€ for 2 courses.

I hadn't expected a weekday lunchtime in November in Chamonix to be a busy time, but all the tables in the small restaurant were full through the whole lunchtime service, so we were glad to have booked ahead.The food being served around us looked excellent as we started to look at the menu.

As well as the daily special, the menu at La Fine Bouche proposes a variety of french food, including local cheesy traditions such as tartiflettes and croutes as well as some rich meat and fish dishes. The restaurant also contains a small épicerie, selling a range of local produce from truffle infused pasta to local wines.

We opted for the daily menu; this is a great option whether you're looking to grab a quick filling lunch or want to take your time over a long lunch, as the service is very quick and friendly. You can opt for anything from a single course plat-du-jour to a three course lunch with coffee (which would still come in at just under 20€).

The homecooked food was excellent. The salad starter was made from seasonal ingredients with an interesting mix of flavours - I especially enjoyed the citrus addition of orange slices. The breaded fish was served with a tasty cheesy sauce and a colourful rice salad.

I'm very keen to go back to sample more of the menu here and I'd also advise that you keep the épicerie in mind when shopping for quality local produce. They also offer a takeaway menu, which would be a great option for a night in after a day out in the mountains.
