German mountaineer in a fatal accident in Chamonix
Mountaineer died after summitting the Aiguille Verte on Sunday
A German mountaineer sadly died yesterday morning after a fall of around 600 metres.
The man was in a party of experienced mountaineers, and is believed to have fallen due to a technical problem with his equipment in the couloir Couturier.
Other member of the team called for rescue services but sadly they were unable to save him.
Our thoughts are with his friends and family.
