News has just reached us here at Chamonet that the Mont Blanc Express train is not running between Les Tines and Argentiere in the Chamonix valley due to a rockfall on the line.

The fall happened yesterday (Sunday) evening and SNCF engineers confirmed this morning that the rocks have completely blocked the train line.

At the time of writing, it is not known whether the line will be cleared and made safe today, so in the meantime, buses and taxis are replacing train services between Les Tines and Argentiere.
