The two French climbers who were reported missing last Monday have been found dead at the foot of Pointe Baretti, where they both suffered a fatal fall of 600 metres.
The weather lifted on Friday and allowed for the mountain rescue services to continue their search for the the climbers, this time allowing them to locate the climbers, who were sadly found dead.
The two men were found at 3200 metres, west of the Brouillard ridge off the Pointe Baretti, said to have fallen several hundred metres last Saturday.
François Deffert was a guide with the Bureau de la Montagne du Salève and was climbing with 34 year old Xavier Chambet - our thoughts go out to their friends and family.
