Old skool style mountain rescue
Thursday the 8th May is Victory in 1945 day and in France there are ceremonies to remember the day. Vallorcine is no exception and as usual, the mountain rescue police (PGHM) were there to pay their respects.
However, imagine the scene when an emergency call out came through. The two rescuers set off immediately for the incident in above Les Bossons – dressed head to foot in ceremonial get up…the long socks, the beret and the lederhosen style shorts.
Ever efficient, the rescue was a success, but we wonder if the victim who only suffered light injuries, also thought they'd suffered concussion and stepped back in time when the rescuers arrived in full dress!
