Old Brevent pylon to stay a little longer

featured in News & Reviews Author Alison Shayler, Chamonix Reporter Updated

It seems as though the drawn out palava regarding the old Brevent pylons is destined to drag on.

Due to recent inclement weather (in December, what did they expect...?) the work on the demolition of the first pylon has been indefinitely halted.

As previously reported on Chamonet.com work on removing the pylon started in mid-October, with completion estimated for early December. The aim was to have the pylon out of the way before the ski season started.

With the Brevent gondola scheduled to open on the 18th December, that is clearly not going to happen.

It will not affect the operation of the gondola at all; it just means that once the lift is back in action they won't be able to carry out any more work until the season ends in mid-April.

We await the next installment in the pylon saga with bated breath…
