French language courses in Chamonix with INSTED
If you're planning on doing a season in France this winter but are maybe feeling a little less than confident in your current ability to converse with the locals, why not spend the run up to the season productively and enrol yourself on a language course with INSTED in Chamonix!
The well established school has just released its pre-season French language programme so whether you want to start learning the language from scratch, take a refresher course or book in for some evening classes, they have something to suit you.
Their standard intensive French course will be running from 24th Nov – 19th December and costs €240 per week for 20 hours tuition. All tuition is carried out in French by experienced, native speaking teachers and you are encouraged to speak the language right from the word go. If you wish to sign up for the whole duration then you'll benefit from a discounted rate of €900 for 4 weeks.
However, if you're one of the many people that run a business in the area, then you may find that the INSTED Business French course is more appropriate to your day-to-day needs. The format of the course is specifically designed to improve your confidence in dealing with more business oriented scenarios. 30 hours of Business French tuition is available during December (exact dates TBC) for €800.
New this season is a Tourism French Course, specifically tailored to those who are coming to the Alps to work. Whereas the standard intensive courses focus on both written and oral French, the Tourism course will focus more on oral French used within the tourism industry, and less on grammar and written French. Among other things, the participants will learn useful polite phrases: going shopping, welcome clients, how take orders and make reservations etc. The beginners level runs from 1st – 12th December and costs €600 for 30 hours of tuition. Even if the closest you intend to get to working during the season is waxing your own skis, this course will still set you up with a good vocab and grammatical base that will be essential for you to make the most out of your time here.
Courses generally run for 3 hours per day (either a.m. or p.m.) and so leave you plenty time to get out and about and practice your newly learned skills and enjoy the many activities that Chamonix has to offer.
If you are interested in signing up for one of these pre-season courses, then contact Linda or Anna at the school on +33 (0)450 53 03 66 or e-mail them via the link below.
