Flegere and Le Tour open

featured in News & Reviews Author Ellie Mahoney, Chamonix Editor Updated

Following the opening of the Brévent and the Bellevue lifts last week, this weekend both Flégère and Le Tour followed suit and opened their turnstiles to visitors.

The Flégère cable car (and L'Index chairlift) give direct access to some of the most beautiful lakes in the valley; Le Lac Blanc and Les Lacs des Chesereys, as well as the popular Grand Balcon Sud that can be followed back to Brévent or more peacefully, along to the Col des Montets. An adult return ticket to La Flègére (1877m) costs €12 or €18 to the top of L'Index (2385m).

Further up the valley at Le Tour, the gondola and the Autannes chairlift will now make the hike over the Col de Balme to Switzerland far less arduous, or perhaps walk the truly spectacular Aiguilette des Posettes. An adult return ticket here costs €10 to Charamillon (1850m) or €14 to the Col de Balme (2186m)

Grand Montets remains the only area left to open for the summer and it will do so next weekend (23rd June).
