Two as yet unidentified mountaineers today fell to their deaths on the Mont Blanc range, whilst climbing the Dent du Géant.

Their bodies were discovered by the PGHM (Péloton Gendarmerie de Haut Montagne) at approximately 3300 metres. They were transported by helicopter to the Chamonix Valley, where the gendarmes hope to confirm their identities.

So far all that has been confirmed is that they were a man and a woman of Anglo-Saxon origin.
