Fatal fall for Italian climbers

featured in News & Reviews Author Alison Shayler, Chamonix Reporter Updated

Two Italian alpinists died yesterday morning on the Mont Blanc Massif.

The mountaineers were on the Kuffner arête not far from the summit of Mont Maudit when the cornice that they were crossing gave way, causing them to fall 500-600 metres.

Their bodies were found on the Italian side of the Brenva glacier.
