Chamonix chalet nominated for top design award
Chamonix chalet company Chalet 1802 has been nominated for a prestigious design award, thanks to its innovative style and functionality.
Chalet Sous Les Bois will appear in the ski section of The International Hotel and Property Awards, hosted by interior design magazine design et al.
Chalet Sous Les Bois is a renovated alpine farmhouse dating from 1880, combining traditional elements with modern design and eco-friendly credentials. One of its many “green” features is the geothermal heating system that drills down 50 metres to reach ground water, providing all the heating for the chalet as well as most of the hot water.
The design retains the original features and farmhouse feel, combined with plenty of space and light. Modern furnishings keep the look “alpine chic” rather than “rustic tweed”.
The entrants are judged on inspirational and creative design, and are selected from around the globe. Once they have been shortlisted the voting is thrown open to the public, meaning that you can give your support to Chalet 1802 online right now!
You can vote here, with design et al magazine offering a complementary 3 month subscription to everyone who takes part.
