The 24 Heures sur Galce de Chamonix was the fourth biggest French race after the Le Mans 24 Hours, the F1 Grand Prix and the Monte Carlo rally and it is back for a revival in 2012 but this time it won't be in Chamonix, or even in France!

This competition that dates back to 1970 ran for over 30 years was stopped in 2004 for various problems, notably the milder winters. But for those who remember the race, the incessant noise over the 24 hours and the peaks of pollution were the main problem.

Nevertheless to keep nostalgic, Franz Hummel has decided to bring this race back to life. Recreating the 1.35 km circuit exactly how it was but in a new undisclosed destination.
To recreate the authenticity of the original event only two wheel drives will be allowed to enter, guaranteeing big skids and controlled fishtails.

The race is due in 2012 but event organisers are already inviting all competitors with cars dating back to the seventies and who are interested in taking part to contact them now for further information.

Perhaps you could suggest to them changing the name of the event?
