Another good result for Britain's Chemmy Alcott in Val d'Isere
Following her 9th place in the super combined event in Val d'Isere on Friday, Britain's Chemmy Alcott again showed she's on great skiing form with a 16th place in the Super G yesterday.
As the downhill race was eventually cancelled due to strong winds on Saturday, we had to wait until Sunday morning to see the women racing again at La Daille in Val d'Isere. After a superb morning of racing, it was a Swiss one-two on the podium, with Fraenzi Aufdenblatten in first place with a total time of 1:26:43, closely followed by team mate Nadia Styger in 1:26:66. Super combined winner Lindsey Vonn was third.
Chemmy Alcott, the 27 year old skier from Surrey, came across the line in 1:27:99, just one and half seconds off the winning pace, to give her joint 16th place with Canadian Britt Janyk who posted exactly the same time.
After a super weekend of racing (despite the cold!) in Val d'Isere, the World Cup caravan takes a break for Christmas, before the next outing for the ladies in Lienz, Austria on the 28th and 29th December. The next men's World Cup racing is in Bormio, Italy on the 27th to the 29th December.
