Amazing footage of skier falling into a crevasse

We had a look last week at how to ski on glaciated terrain, the dangers of avalanches and crevasses.

It seems that sometimes even the professionals get it wrong and end up getting caught out by the mountains.

This footage from Teton Gravity skier Callum Petit is one of the scariest crashes we have ever seen. Thankfully all ended well for the young skier but it does highlight the need for members of each group being skilled and experienced in rescue techniques.

Pretty amazing stuff.
