Maobi is a rock band with 2 differences - a harp and live painting...
Arnaud Roy (harp and kora), Gary Lawrence (vocals and guitar) and Anael Seghezzi (paintings) are influenced by sounds as diverse as Mogwai, Tinderstick and Miles Davis to create an atmospheric post-rock vibe, bringing in jazz improvisation and traditional African rhythms.
Alongside the music Anael Seghezzi draws and paints live, projecting the images onto a screen in front of the audience.
