Alan Peru is a modern-looking Asian-fusion restaurant just up the street from the Aiguille du Midi lift in Chamonix Sud. It's got a good atmosphere and is a popular spot for locals as well as holiday makers, with generous portions and a 3 course 15 Euro lunch menu which changes everyday.

The Hotel Aiguille du Midi Restaurant in Les Bossons is an idyllic setting for an excellent meal, with stunning views over the Les Bossons glacier and Mont Blanc from the beautiful terrace at lunchtime and a large, grand dining room for an evening meal.

Chamonix has a lot of restaurants to choose from, particularly of the traditional Alpine variety, which are lovely for cosy evenings when the dark nights start to draw in.

Using fresh local ingredients, Pierre Carrier and his team constantly strive to create new gastronomic delights to complement the seasons.

I should start this review by being honest, Monkey is probably one of my favourite places in Chamonix. Therefore, when I was asked to try their new menu I was more than happy to comply!

New this season 2019/2020, Dinners Delivered by TCS is a super cost-effective way to cater for your holiday. Tempted by their delicious-sounding menu and their promised hassle-free process, we decided to order ourselves a feast.

You’d expect a Savoyard bistro on the main street of Avenue Ravanel le Rouge to be packed solid on a Saturday night , with a thick, gruyere-reeking atmosphere when you step through its doors. But Chez Constant, tucked away towards the end of the main street, is small and pleasantly cosy, not crammed with as many tourists as they can get in….and has a ‘modern’ Savoyard feel; wood everywhere, fur and cow print pillows and old family photos.

With family over for a visit it seemed a good excuse to head out for dinner on a Friday night and try the Revola Restaurant. Situated just out of town near the Planards ski area it's not the most obvious choice but having heard many wonderful recommendations for the restaurant we felt we need to test it out.

Le Vagabond is one of Chamonix’s best-kept secrets, a locals’ hangout that is just enough off the beaten track to keep it from being on the usual pub crawl routes.

L’Impossible is in a league of its own within the Chamonix restaurant scene, offering a hugely interesting menu of deluxe, homemade dishes made entirely from organic ingredients. With most options on the menu being gluten free and many great vegetarian options, the selection of gourmet dishes and various unusual combinations of flavours is sure to provide something to wow any diner.

Anyone who knows me well is fully aware that I need no excuse to go to Chambre Neuf. During the winter months it became my second home with its famous après ski and great cocktails during happy hour. Now that it is summer, the evenings are lighter and ideally I am supposed to be outside doing all things active, rather than drinking into the evening. I realised I needed a new pretext to visit Chambre regularly. So naturally I was delighted when offered the opportunity to visit my favourite establishment in Chamonix to try their new menu.

Chambre Neuf has undergone a bit of a transformation, with a big refurbishment and reorganisation of space, tables and the bar at the beginning of the winter season.

One of Chamonix's most impressive buildings sits in the heart of the town, facing Mont Blanc and enjoys a great deal of sunshine on the terrace. Known to many for it's 'Tequilla Tuesdays', La Terrasse is not only a good spot for some apres ski, but also a good coffee stop, brunch venue and now Chamonix's newest tapas bar.

Tucked away from the main street and overshadowed by the larger restaurants outside the lift station, you could easily miss Le Basilic in Les Houches. Make sure you don’t. This great little restaurant serves delicious food in a cosy, romantic atmosphere.
