By Ellie Mahoney, Updated

Home to the highest mountain in Europe, the most extreme off piste in the world and awe inspiring views Chamonix has long being renowned for being the best of best! It is no surprise then that the après ski in town is no exception to this rule and so in honour of this this I spent a week exploring first hand 'The Best of Chamonix'!

Best Beer

Homemade is always best, or at least this is the belief of Chamonix's very own Micro Brewery MBC and with five home brewed beers to choose from your bound to find one you like! Their delicious selection is brewed using only the finest ingredients and water sourced from Chamonix glacier fed streams without any preservatives or additives. MBC is open every day from 4pm -2 am and beer is not their only forte. They also offer a cracking selection of snacks and meals including half price chicken wings every Monday night!

Best Drink Deals

Chambre Neuf 2 4 1 cocktails between 8-10 every night. This bar is not only legendary for its après ski table dancing and live music it's also a hot spot later on where you can get a wide selection of drinks for credit crunching prices.

Monkey Head down there at 16.45 for 1€ Pints everyday or if you're a lady all the champagne you can handle for €5 on a Monday night!

Best Hot Chocolate

Le Lapin Agile - Looking for something sweet and warm to sooth away those mid-holiday aches and pains. For a delicious Italian hot chocolate and a fabulous selection of wines look no further then this delightful little spot in the centre and even better between the hours of 6.30pm-9pm, in true Italian style they offer a delicious selection of tapas, salads and finger food all for free!

Best Wine

You may be mistaken in thinking that Cha Cha Cha is just another wine shop but this family run store has much more to offer. The store was opened with the intention of creating a spot where visitors could taste and learn about their wines they have on offer. They have a wide selection of wines and spirits with you can take away with you or enjoy in the comfort of the bar or in a friendly and relaxed atmosphere. Tastings take place every evening at 6pm and 7.30pm and costs 15€ per person. Cha Cha Cha is open daily from 10.30am – 1pm and 4pm to 9pm.
