Teton Gravity Research, the company best known for their action film production and work with Environmental agencies such as Protect Our Winters and 1% for the planet, have set up shop in Chamonix.

The social media accounts of pro-skiers Dane Tudor, Griffin Post, and Ian Macintosh confirm the project, with sources in the valley and an optimistic look at the weather forecast, suggesting the team are here to stay at least a week.

Having recently posted a video of their Alaskan spine shredding trip (see below) Tudor, Post, and Macintosh have now "storm-chased" their way to the best powder of our local season so far, publishing shots from the project to their Instagram accounts featuring Chamonix, Courmayeur and La Thuile. Teton Gravity Research have signalled the collaboration themselves by publishing this shot of Griffin Post in the "white room."

This footage was published as part of the promotion for Tight Loose the 21st film by Teton Gravity Research and which also marks their 21st year of existence. It features 21 of their sponsored athletes including Angel Collinson, Jeremy Jones, Ian McIntosh, Lucas Debari and Hadley Hammer.

The company calls “Tight Loose” its highest achievement to date. Leaving us wondering at Chamonet if this latest French/Italian alpine adventure is "Two Loose" in action?

For those of you who haven't caught the film, the clip below is the brain child of Ian Macintosh. Ditching the helicopter, boarding a beaver plane, flying deep into the Tordrillo mountains (Alaska) for a month long winter camping trip. The goal: to climb and ski massive spine lines, each visible from their small camp deep in the Alaskan wilderness.

Last year's trip marks a turning point in Ian's career as he focuses more on the human-powered experience of pro-ski and the intimacy with nature that only hiking the line first can get. So look out for the team strapping their skins on this week!

They have also been spotted in central Chamonix manning a drone so not only we can expect to see spectacular local pow-shot footage in their present project but mesmerising images of Chamonix and Courmayeur from above. Remember for the average Joe, flying these machines without a license in France is illegal and carries a maximum one-year prison sentence and a $85,000 fine, according to the Associated Press. It's therefore worth nothing the team have professional Drone Pilot Austin Hopkins in tow, who also worked with the crew on their part in Tight Loose.

Also joining the crew in Chamonix and Italy is Matty “Moo” Herriger, one of the industries premier high-angle cinematographers and directors. Matt claims on his Instagram that the team shot one of the best powder days of his 20 year career Wednesday March 8th 2017.

We'll be looking forward to seeing what they've been filming this week...
