Swedish mountaineer rescued from l'Aiguille Verte

Late yesterday morning, the PGHM rescue helicopter was called out to help a Swedish mountaineer who had become trapped by the foot under a large boulder.

The man was climbing with a friend in the Whymper couloir on the way up the Aiguille Verte.

The two men were rescued and brought back to safety in the late afternoon.

The rescue helicopter also recovered another man from the Bionnassay arete yesterday who was thankfully unharmed.
