Grands-Montets top lift to open this Saturday
Post-storm Eleanor repairs complete
After several weeks of downtime and a lot of hard work, the Compagnie du Mont Blanc has announced that the second part of the Grands-Montets cable car to the top of the ski area will re-open this Saturday the 27th of January.
Following hurricane force winds the cable car and station sustained heavy damage. The decision was taken to remove the apparatus and repair it off-site rather than put in place temporary measures. This lead to a longer closure but ensured maximal safety for workers and also the safest possible return to operation.
Having been closed since New Year's, only a ski tourers will have visited that part of the mountain. With all the recent snowfall and good weather forecast for the weekend, the return of top bin skiing should come with excellent conditions.
