Pierre Cologne, who hails from Les Gets in the Haute Savoie region has sadly lost his life in a skiing accident in Chile on Monday this week.

The 20 year old was ascending the Villarrica volcano in Chile with his brother and father, on part of their "The World Ski" project, when it's believed he fell ascending on ice.

Pierre and his brother Julien had already climbed and skied six other volcanoes on their trip, which began in late August. On this ascent, their father had also joined them and he was injured in the fall that sadly cost Pierre his life.

Our thoughts are with their family and everyone who knew him.
